I love Facebook. People get annoyed because they cannot make me say bad things about it. One of the main reasons is that Facebook is a tool. It’s like a knife. A knife is neutral. It can help you cook an awesome meal or it can cut your finger. At the end of the day, the outcome depends on you. Facebook can be an awesome platform to grow your business. And in today’s podcast episode and blog, I want to share with you my top twelve tips to run a successful business on FB.

  1. Go on facebook to grow your business if you ideal client is there
  2. Do not do business from your profile: create a page
  3. Use a name for your page that is different than your profile to avoid confusion
  4. Do not invite your friends to like your page
  5. Do not invite people to join your group
  6. Post on your page consistently with a mix of valuable content, fun facts and offers
  7. Join facebook groups where you can promote your work (I recommend three in the podcast)
  8. Make sure you familiarise yourself with the group rules and respect them
  9. Comment on other people’s posts
  10. Be helpful and don’t hold back on your knowledge
  11. Only share a link if you are asked for it (unless it is market day and it’s your offer)
  12. Do not post the same content with the same image in different groups at the same time

There are of course many more tips that I could give but this is to give you a head start. You would be surprised how many people actually don’t apply these twelve simple tips. In the episode I also go over whether you should create your own group. I share briefly my experience of running one and why I decided to close it. My last tip (and not it’s not number 13 in case you are superstitious) is to have fun. If it’s not fun, don’t do it.
